Expert stunt driver Remy Julienne, who worked on six James Bond films, performed the sensational wheelie with a specially modified Kenworth W-900 truck.
Special Effects supervisor John Richardson had fitted the side of the truck with an additional seventh wheel, just in case Julienne would not be able to do the wheelie. Luckily, everything worked perfectly – even with the tank fitted to the back of the truck.
The original truck used during filming was donated to the Orange County School District by producers Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman with the stipulation that it never be sold at a profit or titled for operation on the road.
